Reacted with to Dr. John’s post in the thread Random bits of Genesis stuff..Reaction (Post)I prefer most Genesis songs live over studio. The live versions often gain power and the arrangements are further perfected. However there is a short list of songs where I prefer the studio versions:

Replied to the thread Studio vs Live - #1 Squonk.PostFor me it's the studio version. There's something about the way the drums and bass were recorded that the band couldn't seem to duplicate live. They sounded so lively on the studio version that I love to turn up right after Entangled ends. As for the… -

Reacted with to Backdrifter’s post in the thread Studio vs Live - #1 Squonk.Reaction (Post)Twelve new threads to look forward to! Studio version by some distance for me. The 78/80 ones were better than the SO one but still not as good as the original. -

Replied to the thread Studio vs Live - #1 Squonk.PostDefinitely the studio version. There's a crispness to the guitars and an overall aggression that is fantastic. The live version is much smoother and loses this edge - practically everything on Seconds Out loses this aspect, which is fine for some… -

PostI'm currently in a situation where I don't have much opportunity to listen to anything, but I managed to listen to the new Ant album over a couple of days. My first impression is that the first half is better than the second. Most of the disc really… -

Replied to the thread TotW 05/20/2024 - 05/26/2024: PETER GABRIEL - Live And Let Live.PostI love this track. 14 points
This one could be a great final track for live shows. Then again, I think the ending is not the best idea. Would have prefered something without a fadeout. I like the gospel bits a lot. Neverthess, a nealy outstanding track.
