- Then the same Anthony Phillips playing "pop" (Invisible Men), although it seems he wasn't very fond of it.

You see what I mean ? At this point of time, it's like all were trying not to even evoke what they were supposed to be (musically, I mean).

Neither of those things will become true through repetition.

So anyway, 1984. I must give it a listen soon, for the first time in about 35 years.

Have they though? There are still prog bands, but Punk? I admit I'm not looking for it, but I can't think of any, and the same with disco really.

There are acts which retain the style and feel of punk and disco but those terms don't tend to be used now, certainly not disco. Exactly right about prog. People tend to lazily regurgitate the nonsense spread by elements of the music press that "punk KILLED prog". It obviously didn't.
