In the last couple of years there has been the odd re-relase of a Genesis album on vinyl, sometimes in limited and/or boxset editions. Virgin/EMI, who are now part of Universal, are going to re-release two Genesis album to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Virgin as well the anniversaries of the albums.
Selling England By The Pound will be released for the first time ever on an official picture disc LP. The album is to come out on October 21 and can already be ordered from amazon-uk. Selling England, like Virgin, celebrates its 40th anniversary this fall. The album was originally released by Charisma Records, who were later taken over by Virgin.
The second album will be released a bit later, on November 8. It is Genesis' 1983 self-titled album that is also known as the Mama-album or as Shapes. There are no big extras, it is simply a special edition that also commemorates the 40th anniversary of Virgin, while it also celebrates the 30th anniversary of the original release of Genesis. The album can be pre-ordered from amazon-uk.
