Germany will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall with a ceremony at the Brandeburg gate. The ceremony is called "Mut zur Freiheit" or in English "Standing Up For Freedom". The ceremony includes music perfomances from musicians from both former Eastern and Western parts of Germany - and Peter Gabriel will also perform there. He confirmed that he will be playing an orchestra version of the David Bowie track Heroes. This song has been strongly connected to Berlin ever since it was released by David Bowie in the 70ies. Gabriel himself recorded the track with Orchestra for his Scratch My Back album and has not played the song since he finished the New Blood Tour in 2012. Find out more about the event on the official website by the Federal German Government and also have a look at Peter's own news item here.
Peter Gabriel created a mixture of the World Music in Passion with the Mainstream of So.
