Since I've been asked this (again)

Well, I thought the setlist was pretty brave considering the fact that they played stadiums in Europe. Quite a few long tracks in it.

On the other hand, there were some things where I thought they could've done better. Blood On The Rooftops instead of Hold On my Heart, Los Endos as a REAL finale, a different thing than the TTT/IT "medley" and of course a complete old track. We know they tried Cinema Show and I still wonder why they didn't try to find a way around the high vocals.

Thinking about it, it could've been like that

    Duke's Intro

    Turn It On Again

    No Son Of Mine

    Land Of Confusion

In The Cage / In That Quiet Earth / Afterglow

    Throwing It All Away

    Ripples

    Home By The Sea

    Blood On The Rooftops

    The Cinema Show

    Follow You Follow Me

    Firth Of Fifth

    I Know What I Like

    Domino

    I Can't Dance

    Carpet Crawlers

    Tonight Tonight Tonight

    Drum Duet

    Los Endos

    Dear all,

we will introduce a new weekly section shortly (possibly first week of September). The Track Of The Week will present a new track every week from either Genesis or its solo careers. The idea is to rate this track and to discuss the track with others.

    Rating:

We will have a 15 points rating system, with 15 points as best possible option.

    15: oustanding

    14: very good

    13: very good -

    12: good +

    11: good

    10: good -

    09: satisfactory +

    08: satisfactory

    07: satisfactory +-

    06: sufficient +

    05: sufficient

    04: sufficient -

    03: poor +

    02: poor

    01: poor -

    00: deficient

Although we will present a new track of the week frequently, the polls / rating option will remain open. So you can always rate "older" TotW, in case you haven't done it yet.

We will always discuss studio versions-

To rate a track, you may apply one of the following aspects

    a) personal taste

    b) track in the context of the band's / artist's history

    c) music skills / songwriting

    d) other aspects that may be important for you

exchange your opinion with others and learn more about the tracks (an introduction text will be made available with every track)

Before GENESIS existed, there were two band relevant to he history of the band. One was THE GARDEN WALL with Tony and Peter, and the Other one was ANON, with Mike, Ant and Richard Macphail.

A few years ago (2011), in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the German Genesis fanclub, we have released a digipak CD with two versions of that song and liner notes by the people involved.

We still have a few copies of that CD. Check this page for more info:

Haven’t listened to that one for quite a while, but some tracks appear on the radio every now and then (Germany seems to like Everybody gets a second chance)

My Crime Of Passion was a Track I used to like.

Compared to Rewired and The Road, Word Of Mouth is weaker in my opinion

I have deleted various posts in this thread

    thank you

Agreed to your favorites list - with one exception: I also love Mother Of Violence, it's so dark and so different...

Biko could have been much better, but I always thought Paul Simon wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Lyrics and chorus variations reminded me of Graceland, he did that in that one as well.

I like both versions. In fact I always thought it was some kind of early commercial era ballad "draft", but it's far more than that. I also like the 1986 live version. It somehow shows a different side to the band. Remember, it's a 1976 song and somehow it's more accessible than prior ballads sich as Entangled.
