15 points from me - a Genesis classic all the way!
I love the moment it crashes in after 'Entangled', it's positively thrilling. A Trick of the Tail is an album that always gets me excited from the get-go and 'Squonk' is obviously one of its major tracks thematically with the return of its themes in 'Los Endos'.
The Led Zep connection is well known, and Phil adds the Bonham-feel to Mike and Tony's themes. Another track too, that probably wouldn't exist without Mike's initial inspiration and…

I've been looking for help with something and I thought maybe someone on this board might be able to help.
My parents got together in Arizona the 80s. Love was in the air. They had a bit of a tumultuous start to their relationship. It's family legend that one of my great uncles even told them "I'll give it 6 months" when he heard about their engagement. They made it to…

PG2 is not an album I play that often, it must be quite a few years since I've listened to the entire album. 'Indigo', I feel, is one of its better tracks. The lyrics are a bit of a downer for an oldie like me, focusing on mortality as they do.
The words emote a 'Meet On The Ledge'-type atmosphere, no doubt comforting for those who feel they're about to be reunited with loved ones upon expiring, but not so cheery for the likes of me, who see expiration as complete finality. Not that I have an…

'Waiting For Godot' is one that slipped through my net - the single is on Amazon, but at a ridiculously inflated price. I do have the 'Don't Look Back' pic disc, though - one of James' best constructed ballads of the 1980s, perfectly produced by Mr. Horn and with a superb Mel Collins sax solo to boot - utterly gorgeous! 8)

I find the first album a bit overblown, although I love some of the tracks. So I like the understated nature of this album and I think Indigo is particularly strong in that vein. Peter’s vocals are outstanding and I really like the choice of instrumentation, which compliment the subtlety of the song but give a lot of colour, with an almost country vibe at times with the guitar, which contrasts nicely with the flute/recorder sounds in the earlier part. 11 from me

For me, it is one of the early Gabriel classics. A brilliant track on the overall not-so-good second album. Would be interesting to hear how this would sound today - a little hint of that is on the second Gelsenkirchen Encore CD from 2007....

Back from the days when Phil hasn't found his confident role as a singer yet. That makes the whole album an interesting ride. "Squonk" is one of my favorites from that post Gabriel era. 13 points for a track I would have loved to hear during a later tour ...
