I am quite impressed by them. The use of quarter tone steps in the bass and guitar parts does give the material a really interesting sound. Some Middle Eastern music uses quarter tones, so maybe that is where Micklemus is getting that association. Also as mentioned, the guitarist/bassist is very skilled at using looping pedals.

I like this song. I like it enough that I bothered to learn how to play it on piano as a teen. It has lovely melody and the lyrical focus, as mentioned above, seems to be someone contemplating the end of life. I like the fairly simple production. I wish some of the songs on Car had similar treatment - Humdrum and Here Comes the Flood were too over the top.

PG2 is not an album I play that often, it must be quite a few years since I've listened to the entire album. 'Indigo', I feel, is one of its better tracks. The lyrics are a bit of a downer for an oldie like me, focusing on mortality as they do. The words emote a 'Meet On The Ledge'-type atmosphere, no doubt comforting for those who feel they're about to be reunited with loved ones upon expiring, but not so cheery for the likes of me, who see expiration as complete finality.
