Phil, by a large margin. Phil's solo music is what helped me get into Genesis in the first place. I was aware of Phil and Genesis pretty much side-by-side in the early 80s but the massive presence of No Jacket Required in 1985 made him (and by extension Genesis) hard to ignore.
I like, and appreciate, Peter's solo work but a lot of it doesn't connect with me emotionally. Much of it is good, and thought-provoking, but distant.
I like the Mechanics, though it drifted too quickly into…

I gave them another go and no, sorry but no, how are they a phenomenon?

I don't like all their stuff but I do like their way to do things. And those costumes. Hilarious!

It's a hit and miss album. It was a fresh start, but some tracks like "On no" or "You can be the rock" are not good. The title track could have more soul or rock, while the choice of "Reach out" was really strange. And then the sounds used on "Hunt you down"...

Great to see he's back. Been waiting for new music for years. Part of me was hoping he might be a guest singer on i/o.

12 for me. Every once in a while, I like listening to it as a "oh, yeah-there's that one" kind of thing...but it's not really even close to a favorite. Just...okay.
Fits on the album in terms of the overall sound, but again for me this is one where I'd rather it was a B-side, and Paperlate or You Might Recall was on the album in its place.

A song that is really interesting and off-putting at the same time imho. I never knew what to make of it to be honest. I enjoy the rhythmic finesses and the chorus with its keyboard chords. I don't like the all too simple guitar riff, the all too simple verses and that lead synth in the end section. Very mixed bag.
