Yes it was certainly a sad day when he died. He was an incredible song writer. Talk Talk were one of my favourite bands of the 80's - so talented just didn't get the recognition they deserved.
loved the first 3 albums but the minimalist approach is a different beast on 4th and 5th albums. Personally loved the more melodic pop side.

Its a fabulous album my friend. Beautiful melodies and lots of Camel style guitar work.
