How’s the finalizing of the interview going Christian?
takes some time. 70 minutes is quite some work to do - plus Steve has to approve a couple of names he has mentioned.

I’m excited to hear the final interview!
I emailed Steve during the quarantine abs we had a fun back and forth. So accessible and thoughtful to fans. He sent me an autograph.
I’d love Peter Gabriel’s autograph but fear he’s about as inaccessible as it gets.
i can hardly wait to listen!!! I’m envious, Christian!

I’d love to meet Phil! Seems like a cool guy!

holy moly, ME TOO!!!

I met him once, in 1980 - I found him sitting next to me at a Peter Gabriel gig in London. We chatted, he signed my programmes, he was friendly and indeed a very nice chap
Also looking forward to reading this ... and waiting patiently (can imagine how much work it is to put this all together)
Interview is finally finished and I just need three or four inputs from Steve regarding specific names and instruments he mentioned. Hope to be able to put it online tomorrow
Can hardly wait!!!
That was a lot to read - thanks!
Interesting that he has already finished his next album. Perhaps he should tell Gabriel how that works
Nice details about the album creation process!
OUTSTANDING!!! Thank you for doing this, Christian!!! How exciting!!!!
Thanks Christian, nice though it must be to interview Steve, I’ve done a bit of transcription and I know how much work went into that. Well done and thanks again
Great work Christian! I found it really fascinating to get an inside glimpse into Steve’s thought process. Also it gave me a greater appreciation for the difficulty musicians must have been facing during the lockdown. Thank you, I really enjoyed it.
Nice job on the interview, Christian.
It was also gratifying to read that Under A Mediterranean Sky sold well and that Steve was pleasantly surprised by how strongly it did.
Always nice for artists to have that reward and incentive to continue being creative.
Thank you for your feedback! Glad you like the result.

I agree with Witchwood, it’s nice to hear a musician hint at the monetary success of his work. After all, while these are highly artistic and creative individuals, this is also their livelihood, and they watch their bottom line just like all of us.

Can you imagine how much dough Steve would’ve had if he had stuck with Genesis as they went through the 80’s pop-rock era!? My goodness the guy would blow his nose with hundred dollar bills!
I’m not suggesting he should’ve done so, but I have to think somewhere in the back of his mind (and with Ant, etc) the wealth Genesis and Peter amassed from around 1978 onward....HUGE!!

What’s crazy about that theory is that I don’t think there would have been a “pop rock era” Genesis had Steve stayed and had any major influence on their music. At least not to the extent of Invisible Touch. I mean they were already getting more poppy after the Lamb, but the two, four man Genesis albums definitely retained their proggy elements. We’ll never know.
Wonderful interview!
The answer to the "did you get feedback from the band" question
always wonder what's going on between them...
Besides that: what an unbelievable output this man is producing!
Next interview—-Peter Gabriel!! And, Christian, get an autograph To Scott for me while you’re at it!
