Phil Travers covers for the Moody Blues, from "in search...." through to "7th Sojourn", and the solo albums "Blue Jays", "From Mighty Oaks" "Hopes, Wishes and Dreams" plus Trapeze's "Medusa" are particular favourites of mine. He used to create the covers after listening to the records.
Got in a bit of trouble with "A Question of Balance" as he used an image of Col. Blashford-Snell, who objected. I'd have been over the moon. Anyway, there are 2 versions of the cover, as a result.

Fleetwood Mac & REM have the worst album covers by any artist in my view.
I suppose my favourite album cover is Sgt Pepper, and all the Beatles album covers.
I like this one. The hazy psychedelic landscape reflects the music on the album really well.
I also like this one. Why is one of the fingers black? What does the writing on the index finger mean? And the dice looks all wrong. It also sets the tone for the album.

I can't but laugh at how theatrical and audacious some of his stuff was (like the above monologue from Bat out of Hell 2). Definitely an acquired taste and not for everyone. His solo material is weak but I like meat loaf and just discovered Pandora's Box when he died. All female singers, pretty good.

I like big, graphic (fantasy style) covers (= Mike Rutherford: a bit busy), so stuff from bands like early Marillion, Iron Maiden, Asia, Yes and so many heavy metal bands, are dear to my eyes.
