I think one of the reasons why all additional musicians also sing is to do just that. And remember that (apart from New Blood) you can't really say ghat Peter's singing always 100% accurate and thinking about age, it's a wise decision to have some backup there.
Peter has an exceptional vocal condition for his age...if you compare to Phil Collins. The vocal reinforcement can be useful if he runs out of steam during very rhythmic songs.

Does he? Hard to tell, isn't it? We haven't seen him perform in 7+ years, but I also hope you are right.

I hope so too... Even if in the studio you can do whatever in order to magnify a voice, it seems that Peter doesn't use autotune. The I/O songs were mixed (presumably) last summer. We can easily be positive about the quality of his voice.
