PETER GABRIEL - Panopticom (Bright Side Mix) - track discussion

I like it. I reckon he won't stick to the plan of releasing one track each full moon. Maybe he will release the album soon but continue to release new material each full moon? I'm wondering will there be physical releases or just digital versions?

I feel sorry for those who've waited 20 years for THIS! And now, it turns out, you'll have to wait even longer for the rest. What nonsense.

That's my interpretation, not that the entire album will be released one track per month.

As to the album as a whole, this is one track so far. Understandable that people want to pick over every molecule of the song, the release method and tour etc but it tells us nothing about the album as a complete entity.

I saw this as well and I think this is what we also get when we subscribe to his full moon thing. The first one is available for everybody, probably as a teaser.

That does now sound more likely based on his comparison to assembling pieces of lego before ending up with the finished product.

As awful as this sounds, I was prepared not to like this song. I admit to having grown a bit weary of PG intellectualizing everything down to a fine nub, but I rather like the music in particular with this one.

The chorus is a good nod to the legendary "The Boxer".....I didn't that Peter love Simon & Garfunkel.....

I personally haven't heard it on the radio yet but I can see it's listed on BBC Radio's playlist so may have missed it.

BBC used to have a nice facility on their site where you could search an artist and get a list of when they were last played, which track, which show etc. They changed their system and along with a couple of other useful things that facility vanished (or I'm assuming it has as I can't find it but that might just be me being dumb). Otherwise I'd have checked to see where/when it's been played.

Definitely excited to hear this mix, and releasing 2 mixes of every song is an interesting idea, but the wording of the Full Moon Club email today again suggests that Peter is going to release every song monthly before the album comes out. And I just don't see the point of that. If that's truly the case, I won't be listening to any more tracks (other than Panopticom, which I've already heard) until the full album is released, so that I/O will be new music to me.

I gave it an airing last week on my radio station in Eau Claire, WI (Greatest Hits 98.1) on our "Latest From The Greatest" segment.
