Notes: Both Sides Of The Story is something of a bridge to Both Sides' predecessor ...But Seriously with its socially critical songs à la Another Day In Paradise. But them, only the penultimate song We Wait And We Wonder offers something comparable on Both Sides. Otherwise the album is rather melancholic and dark. Even if Both Sides Of The Story is perhaps not the best representative of the album's basic mood, this first single release was a foretaste of the work that was to follow in the (too?) big footsteps of ...But Seriously. The song was played live again and again for almost five years. But it has now been 25+ years since it disappeared from the concert stage. A sign of wear and tear? Or what do you think of this song 30 years after its first release?.

    cheers

    Christian

  • 13. I love the track, especially the MTV Unplugged version and I am still hoping this will see the light of day :)

In the meantime, there's also the MTV Most Wanted version worth checking out

    ... make tomorrow today!

  • 14. It's a very good song that does all the things Collins was good at very well. I feel like if Elton John wrote and recorded it, it would be elevated to 'timeless' status by the wider public.

  • This is the MTV Unplugged version, by the way
