MIKE + THE MECHANICS - Refueled! Tour 2023

Going to see him in late May. I wish he would play something a bit different this tour maybe from "Smallcreeps Day" or some other Genesis songs rather than the usual We can't dance, FYFM, Land of Confusion....

While that would be great, I'm not sure M&tM is the right vehicle for straying much more leftfield than LoC. They seem very, very "safe" to me. It'd also be great if he got Ray out for an airing of Not About Us or something.

Will try to see them in Hanburg. Wanted to travel to the UK but that’s not working out for me any longer. Hope to see them with Nic.

Actually I think you're correct. Ray said he and Tony were up for going back to the studio to do another album, but Mike was the one who said "meh, thanks but no thanks" (or something along those lines).

Seems rehearsals have begun! Hope they'll play some different Genesis songs (compared to previous tours).

Any news on the set list for the first show?

Seeing them in Eastbourne in May and praying there will be some surprises!

Very good 2nd show in Stockton tonight. Highlights included the acoustic set, a medley of Genesis and mechanics numbers.

Given it's the setlist, there's no "maybe" or "hmmm" about it.

The Stockton one is the same so don't expect them to suddenly trundle out Ripples or Can Utility.

"Maybe" because I don't know where setlist.fm gets the news.

I was hoping they would finally play something from Mike's solo career (I'm sure songs like Moonshine or Maxine could work, both Tim Howar and Andrew Roachford are great singers), but it won't happen unfortunately.

Listening to them sing We Can't Dance was painful tbh
