THAT is a great set!

A definite purchase!

It's certainly got some interesting stuff, especially disc 1, along with some that won't do much for me but on balance worth getting.

Interesting choice for the sole genesis track. In a way I'm surprised it's got any Genesis or 'conventional' solo tracks on it. Perhaps as he wrote the lyric and perhaps is especially proud of the vocal, he went for that one.

That's fantastic news! I have for years had the intention of collecting songs which he played drums or sang on, but so far I haven't done the research and haven't sorted the songs I already have. Also, I don't feel like buying an entire album of some artist just because one song features Phil. But this box set is a valuable start! Now we just have to figure out which songs are missing!

Of course there are a number of songs from the Flaming Youth album missing, but I already own that album and I recommend it to anyone not having it. Also he sang a duet with Frida from ABBA, called "Here We'll Stay", which is not on this box set. Well of course one could go on and on with this, especially regarding live appearances.

I was thinking a bit more about this release. It must be rather uncommon with a box set consisting of one artists collaborations with other artists?

I remember Phil mentioning the possibility of such a release during the Take A Look At Me Now campaign but never really thought it would see the light of day. I'm so pleased to see they managed to get it together. Few musicians can have been in such demand and for such a prolonged period of time as Phil, not just as a drummer but also a vocalist and producer. And still, there are omissions from this box set. Maybe Phil forgot or they couldn't get the licensing. Here are the missing tracks that come immediately to mind:

Bruce Hornsby - Long Tall Cool One (Phil: backing vocals); Talk Of The Town (Phil:bongos); China Doll (Phil: backing vocals); Fields Of Grey (Phil: tambourine, backing vocals)

He plays on two songs, providing a second layer of percussion. His playing is recognizable but on both occasions here, his contributions are very brief.

Absolutely! It contains a lot of songs I haven't heard. Then I will use this load of songs as the basis on which to build up a more complete library of all his collaborations. I suppose that will keep me occupied for some years!

Looks pretty cool

Things like this can never be complete, but I think the CD with live versions could have been better. But again, there is so much to choose from.

All in all a nice collection, nevertheless!

I loved reading the sleeve notes! They were more extensive than I thought they would be.

As others have indicated, there would always be songs that you might prefer were on it; however, for me personally, it had a large majority of the songs I would have wanted for such a set (e.g., I've always liked his work on Frida's single; without this set, I wouldn't have it on CD - there are other songs that are equally appreciated).

I'm really glad this set exists and that I now have it!
