"Genesis' signature synth-rock sound"
So Genesis are officially a synth rock band? I guess I learned something today.

I always love seeing Genesis fans taking stuff written about the band and picking it apart at the sub-atomic level. In this case, some bloke or other doing his top 10 list. It's what this forum was created for! 😂
Not sure that pointing out the very narrow scope of her top 10 is "picking it apart at the sub-atomic level"

Oh that, and the above "synth rock" comment, are on the spectrum, baby.
And quite right too. After all - We Are Genesis Fans.
It reminds me of something I would have turned in as an assignment in college, due on a Monday, where I've been partying all weekend. Bleary-eyed and headachey I remember at 10pm Sunday this thing is due the next day, so I frantically listen to IT and WCD. I fall asleep during Dreaming While You Sleep, then make it through the first track of Abacab before thinking "bugger it, I can't go on. It'll do".

Some interesting choices here, like Never a Time?! Also some interesting nuggets - I never knew Driving the Last Spike charted on the billboard 200. Also some inaccuracies at first glance.
That made me laugh
I wonder how Abacab got in this list

Yea, I always love seeing Genesis taking stuff written in this forum and picking it apart at the sub-atomic level. It's what this forum was created for! More or less

We don't get to see them do it, but they do.
9 of the 10 are from IT or WCD. Truly a deep dive into their history
What? Peter Gabriel was the singer?!! And who's Peter Gabriel? I got both the former and, albeit less frequently the latter.

Very positive review of the recent release.
Interesting, some bits I don't fully agree with but some notable takes too. I like this comment regarding the 5-man era:
Even at their most busy, Genesis at this time balanced their outward flamboyance with a razor-sharp instinct for when to pull back as a group.
I look forward to reactions to the description 'synthpop'. Come on guys.
Tony, presumably the most flamboyant member of the gang? 🤣

Read this and got me thinking that in all these years, i am not sure that i have ever heard the edited single version!...although sounds like haven't missed much...no mellotron😔

I suppose everyone knows this by now, but the single version isn't an edit of the album version; it's a different recording altogether. Note that the ending is completely new, and Peter does a better job of enunciating the words (i.e., no "shedded-a-tail").

I always assumed that it was a requirement within the Terms of Service when we created a profile here.

Steve doesn't at all come across as having a bag full of grievances here, no sir not at all. And if I'm reading it right, he more or less says GTR was superior to the 3 man Genesis lineup because they bridged complex music and radio friendly music better.

Yes, well with all due respect to Steve, I’ll channel my inner JD Considine here 😆
I listened to the "On the Threshold of a Dream/Moody Blues" episode of Discord & Rhyme last night. Excellent stuff, got 3 more Moodies albums to listen to on there, Inc. To Our Children's Childrens' Children, which they've already said is their favourite Moodies album (Mine too, so I guess that's why I like them.
So far they've only done 1 Genesis album, ATOTT, I expect others will follow, so maybe some here would like to listen to that one, or one of the many other albums they've covered. Show is about 2 hours long, and described as a podcast, but I haven't found a download option, so technically, it's streaming:

Lengthy new interview with Tony Banks. Unfortunately within the first few paragraphs he states that the well has run dry and not to expect any further Genesis releases
